While zooming south from Crater Lake, we passed the small town of McCloud. We thought it was worth it to stop by in honor of our trainer who bares the same last name, so we backtracked a few miles for a visit.
McCloud was originally a company town, formerly owned by McCloud River Lumber Company
McCloud Population: 1,640
McCloud High School has a principal, 3 teachers, and 8 students.
Elevation: 3,254 feet
It is an adorable town at the base of Mt. Shasta (14,179 feet) with the friendliest people we've met yet.
